Abercelyn
Country House is a Grade II-listed 18th century, former rectory, which has
been sympathetically renovated to provide modern comforts, including
central-heating and luxury en-suite bathrooms, while retaining original
features such as the Georgian staircase, marble fireplaces and window seats.
The house is set in
intriguing gardens overlooking Bala Lake. All the bright, spacious bedrooms
have en-suite bathrooms, a colour TV with teletext, VCR and remote control,
a clock-radio, and beverage facilities. The bedrooms are named after local
mountain ranges and have lake views. Home-made quilts are provided in some
bedrooms. Guests can relax in front of a log fire in the drawing room,
browse the library or write letters. Guided-walking and winter-breaks are
also available.
A leisurely breakfast taken in the dining room, with views of the
mountain-stream flowing through the garden, will make a fine start to the
day. Meals are opportunities to discuss plans for the next day and share
today's experiences with other guests. Our speciality is home cooking with
the best, fresh, local products, including freshly baked bread and home-made
preserves. Special diets can be catered for, including sport competitors.
